Great news electric football is back with NFL Deluxe Electric Football.
Remember playing NFL Electric football back in the ’60s? I don’t; it was a little before my time. But I can imagine the excitement as a kid growing up in the ’60s, getting this for Christmas, and being able to compete with friends and family.

The game back then was sweeping the nation. It was truly ahead of its time, and it remained a fan favourite well into the ’70s. Of course, video games took over shortly after that.
Before Madden football was King, this was cutting edge technology. I was not around then to enjoy this back then but I have played the game since. I tried it on an older version, but it still worked great, and despite the relatively low technology, it provided endless hours of fun.
Playing Madden is awesome, but playing NFL Deluxe Electric Football is a whole new animal. You can set plays and then watch them play out in front of you. Sometimes, as expected, things screw up, and it’s funny. Other times, it’s hard to believe how well your plays work.
This rebooted and refreshed version now provides just as much fun and reminds us why this was one of the hottest gift items of the ’60s and ’70s.
For those of us not old enough to remember this game, it is also a great gift. One that nicely complements any serious man cave. This new version comes complete with sound effects, a game clock, and a scoreboard. You can play solo or against a friend.
At under $150, this game is sure to bring a smile to someone’s face. Despite its popularity in the past, it is relatively rare to see these days and will have an instant wow factor! If you’re looking for a present for a football fan, and this works for your budget, this game will be a winner.
